2013 Bike to Work Day Wrap-up

Last Friday, Community Transit was out at the Lynnwood Transit Center, McCollum Park Park and Ride and Boeing to celebrate Bike to Work Day!  We had 327 bike riders join us for food, coffee and fun!

Thanks to all the bikers that joined us at one of the Community Transit commute stations.

these bike riders for their commitment to cleaner air.

Community Transit and Boeing staffs were out bright and early Friday morning to greet bikers.

A special thanks to our bike mechanics from Bicycle Centres, Harvy’s Bike Shop and
Gregg’s Cycle that were on hand to help riders with minor repairs and maintenance advice!

Thank you to everyone that made Bike to Work Day in Snohomish County a success this year!

  1. maybe I should start riding to work...I miss my connection at least 4 out of 5 days a week and I'm late for school....why is 113 to ash way 5 to 10 minutes every morning,is it the drivers or is it schedule?

    1. We students also noticed #113 late and we called in from the stop. It happened at rush hour about 3;30-5:00 pm, Spring 2012.
      CT people listened to us and stopped it from continually being late or missed altogether. You need to keep calling to report it and they do fix problems, they care.

  2. Sorry to hear about your missed connection. Not every connection in the system is planned, due to service limitations. In general, if you have a problem with your bus, please call our Customer Information line at (425) 353-RIDE so we can log the issue and research it further.

  3. there is a connection from the 113 to the 116 at swamp creek but the 113 is late everyday..I have looked at the schedule and I think I figured out the problem with my 113 bus, the person who figures out the scheduled leave time from Mukilteo has obviously forgotten there is a ferry boat down there with a bit of traffic right at the departure time for my bus...I now feel bad for the drivers of that route to have to deal with problem every day, I will apologize to my diver on Monday and tell her I didn't realize the scheduling dept has overlooked this problem...another thing is ,,,,are you trying to fix the cluster of busses at ash way P&R...I commend the drivers that have deal with this day in and day out

  4. We've received grant funding to reconfigure the bus loop at Ash Way that will help alleviate some "clustering." Stay tuned for details as the project unfolds.

    1. I read your blog every now and then...how come there is never any stories or comments about your drivers? after all if they didn't show up and drive everyday wouldn't you be out of a job?

We feature them in our employee newsletter, especially when they've received milestone recognition like the "Million Mile Award" and various years of service awards.We just need to and get their permission to share this good news on social media. So, what kinds of driver features would you be interested in reading?
