Mountlake Terrace Freeway Station

The Washington State Department of Transportation is a partner in this Sound Transit construction project - sited in the middle of I-5. So they have a very nice slideshow which illustrates the progress so far. My favorite photo shows the elevator shaft. While most of the other work at the Mountlake Terrace Freeway Station is wrapping up, the elevator may be one of the last items to get a green light.

It's all scheduled to open for buses and business on March 20. The freeway station is connected to Community Transit's Mountlake Terrace Transit Center, and the new service stopping there will more than triple the number of buses operating between Mountlake Terrace and Seattle.

  1. Can you get at answer from sound transit as to why the 510 will not stop their? This would give great service to everett and 112th st., also even better downtown service, or does community transit want to keep riders going to everett on the 201 and long trip from mlt.

  3. Between about 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. weekdays, 34 southbound buses will pass through the Mountlake Terrace Freeway Station en route to Seattle (Routes 413, 415, 511 and 513). It's not made for buses to be able to pass each other before or after loading, so congestion is a consideration a peak morning and afternoon times.
Community Transit operates Sound Transit bus routes in Snohomish County and provides input on plans and schedules for that service. However, decisions are made by Sound Transit. To ask questions or comment on Sound Transit service, please contact Service Planning & Development at main@soundtransit.org.

  4. As for travel from Marysville to Ellensburg, you'll need to take both Community Transit and Greyhoud buses. Check out Greyhound's website at www.greyhound.com, then use Community Transit's online Trip Planner to get from Marysville to Everett or Seattle.

  5. kristin, sound transit does not give an answer as to why 510 will not stop, that is why i asked if YOU can get an answer. 510 would be great and give us quick access to everett, especially on weekends.
